Meet the Gormans.
Tom Gorman
President
Tom has been in the building business since the early 1980's when his first jobs were building decks. During college, he had a summer position working on renovations and home remodeling.
After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University and meeting his future wife Karen whom obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration there, they moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Tom took a position with Ryland Homes who was the largest home builder in America at the time. He was trained in new home construction by some of the finest superintendents in the world.
Tom was quickly promoted and transferred to Raleigh, North Carolina to run several projects there. When that division closed in 1996 Tom again moved with Ryland Homes to Columbus, Ohio. When Ryland left the Columbus market Tom and Karen decided to stay and Tom soon found a position with Dominion Homes and eventually Toll Brothers.
In 2009, Tom became a LEED Certified Builder. Tom is also a member of the BIA and BBB (A+ rating).
Karen Gorman
CFO
Karen's business experience also began in real estate working for the Trammel Crow Company managing apartment communities. She worked in real estate until their move to Columbus where she accepted a position with The Ohio State University.
Karen worked in various positions there which trained her to run the financials for Gorman and Sons when they opened their own business. She performs weekly check runs which allow her to pay the subcontractors on a timely basis. Karen also assists Tom in spec home prints and design selections.
She is constantly studying trends, new products and styles to incorporate into their homes. Tom and Karen are also always looking at new ways to build green and have experience in geothermal heating and use energy efficient products in their homes.
Karen is also a member of the BIA and BBB (A+ rating).
